If you live in a city, or other highly populated or busy area jogging may not be a good idea according to Belgian researchers from Vrije Universiteit Brussel .
The researchers found that people who live in a city and exercise outdoors score lower in cognitive testing than those who exercise in more suburban and rural areas.
The higher levels of pollution in the city environments prevented the brain from getting the full benefit of the exercise. The city exercisers had a reduced ability to absorb new information and an increased chance of mental health problems due to inflammation of the brain.
We think that too many bankers have been going for a lunchtime jog then 🙂 !
